This quote has always resonated with me as I feel it highlights the importance of a resilient and inclusive approach to both teaching and learning.
Every experience, every observation, every interaction is a learning experience. We are all lifelong learners and at New Hartley First School we foster, promote and admire a love of learning. We encourage all of our children to ‘dream big’ and ‘aim high’.
We pride ourselves on our welcoming and nurturing ethos and would highly recommend that any prospective parents or carers come and visit.
We would love to meet you!

Over the last couple of weeks in Nursery, we have been very busy learning all about sea animals and then dinosaurs!
During our sea creature week, we read the story Commotion in the Ocean and discussed all of the sea animals we had heard of before, as well as discovering some new ones too.
In our dinosaur topic, we have been finding out about herbivores, carnivores and omnivores, as well as learning about the role of a palaeontologist.
The children have also loved watching the life cycle of our caterpillars. We observed them grow, form their cocoons, and now we are so excited to say that our butterflies have finally emerged!
It has been wonderful to see the children so curious, engaged and excited over these past few weeks! ... See MoreSee Less

Year 4 have had a fun week. They worked brilliantly as a team to complete their build of their Anglo Saxon houses. They also enjoyed the 'Wizard of Oz' theatre show. This was followed by a Q&A and workshop with the cast, where they were given an opportunity to learn about lighting, sounds and set design and even have a go themselves! ... See MoreSee Less
