This quote has always resonated with me as I feel it highlights the importance of a resilient and inclusive approach to both teaching and learning.
Every experience, every observation, every interaction is a learning experience. We are all lifelong learners and at New Hartley First School we foster, promote and admire a love of learning. We encourage all of our children to ‘dream big’ and ‘aim high’.
We pride ourselves on our welcoming and nurturing ethos and would highly recommend that any prospective parents or carers come and visit.
We would love to meet you!

Y4 had a super day at Arbeia Roman Fort on Monday. They were amazed by the ruins and the reconstructed buildings but the highlight was taking part in an archaeological dig to find Roman artefacts such as coins, pottery, bones and weapons. They also created an art print from the artefacts in the museum. A brilliant experience which really helped develop our understanding of The Romans in Britain. ... See MoreSee Less

This week in Nursery we’ve been delving further into our topic of celebrations, with a special focus on birthdays!
The children enjoyed talking about what happens on a birthday, why we celebrate them, and sharing their own special birthday experiences.
We also had lots of fun exploring musical instruments, thinking about how to play them fast, slow, loud, and quiet. The children did a brilliant job following instructions and keeping to the rhythm. ... See MoreSee Less
